Introduction to Services

 

Van Rye Publishing, LLC (“VRP”) exists to edit, format, or fully publish your book manuscript. It does so by offering five different service options for you to choose from based on your book publishing needs. If you have not already done so, please visit the ABOUT tab of this website to find out whether VRP’s editing, formatting, or publishing services are right for your book manuscript. Then return to this SERVICES tab and review the sections below to determine the VRP service option(s) best for your book manuscript. Then head to the SUBMIT tab of this website for details about how to submit your manuscript to VRP.

 

 

Services

 

(1) Service Option 1: Editing Only

(Status: Accepting Manuscripts)

 

Details: With this service option, you will submit your book manuscript to VRP as a Microsoft Word document for editing only. VRP will copy-edit your manuscript using Microsoft Word’s “Track Changes” feature and will return the copy-edited manuscript to you for your approval. You will pay VRP a fee covering the editing. (Note: For samples of VRP editing, you can review the books shown on the SAMPLES tab of this website, all of which are VRP-edited.)

• Services Included: Copy-editing of your book manuscript with Microsoft Word track changes.

 

• Fee Paid by You: $0.018 per word (fiction books) or $0.03 per word (nonfiction books).

 

• Royalty Paid to You: N/A (edited manuscript is returned to you).

(2) Service Option 2: Formatting Only

(Status: Accepting Manuscripts)

 

Details: With this service option, you will submit your book manuscript to VRP as a Microsoft Word document for formatting only. VRP will format your manuscript as a print book (print-ready PDF format) and will return it to you in this format for you to self-publish via Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, IngramSpark, Barnes & Noble, or wherever else this format is accepted. VRP will also format your manuscript in e-book format (EPUB format) and will return it to you in this format for you to self-publish via Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, Smashwords, Google Play, Barnes & Noble, or wherever else this format is accepted. You will pay VRP a fee covering the formatting. (Note: For samples of VRP formatting, you can review the books shown on the SAMPLES tab of this website, all of which are VRP-formatted.)

• Fee Paid by You: $0.006 per word (fiction books) or $0.012 per word (nonfiction books) plus $3.00 per image.

 

• Royalty Paid to You: N/A (formatted manuscript is returned to you).

(3) Service Option 3: Full Publication

(Status: Accepting Manuscripts)

 

Details: With this service option, you will submit your book manuscript to VRP as a Microsoft Word document to be considered for full publication under the VRP imprint. VRP will review your manuscript’s content, quality, and sales potential. If, after review, VRP agrees to publish your manuscript under this service option, then VRP will handle all aspects of publishing your book and will cover all publication costs. VRP will edit your book, format your book, create your book’s cover, assign your book unique ISBNs (from Bowker) and a unique LCCN (from the Library of Congress), publish your book, register your book’s copyright in your name, provide you with complimentary copies of your book, and market your book all at zero cost to you. Your book will be published in the most popular print book and e-book formats. Your book will be available internationally at book retailers and to libraries. And VRP will pay you a standard royalty of 20% of gross revenues each year under a publishing contract between you and VRP. • Services Included: All aspects of publication of your book manuscript as a print book and e-book plus book marketing.

 

• Fee Paid by You: $0

 

• Royalty Paid to You: 20% of gross revenues. (Note: Gross revenues are defined as the revenues VRP receives from your book before deduction of VRP’s expenses.)

(4) Service Option 4: Shared Publication

(Status: Accepting Manuscripts)

 

Details: This service option works the same way as Service Option 3 (please see details of Service Option 3 above), except for publication costs and royalties. Under Service Option 4, you will pay VRP a fee that covers a fraction of the publication-related costs (nothing more), and VRP will pay you a royalty of 50% of gross revenues each year under a publishing contract between you and VRP. (Note: For samples of VRP shared publication, you can review the books shown on the SAMPLES tab of this website, all of which are VRP-published.)

• Fee Paid by You: $0.018 per word (fiction books) or $0.03 per word (nonfiction books).

 

• Royalty Paid to You: 50% of gross revenues. (Note: Gross revenues are defined as the revenues VRP receives from your book before deduction of VRP’s expenses.)

(5) Service Option 5: Your Publication

(Status: Accepting Manuscripts)

 

Details: With this service option, you will submit your book manuscript to VRP as a Microsoft Word document. If VRP agrees to accept your manuscript under this service option, then VRP will fully prepare your book manuscript for self-publication. VRP will edit your book, format your book, and create your book’s cover in both e-book and print book formats. You will pay VRP a one-time fee for the preparation. And VRP will turn the publication-ready files over to you for self-publishing. You receive 100% of the royalties! (Note: For samples of VRP’s work, you can review the books shown on the SAMPLES tab of this website, all of which are VRP-published.)

• Fee Paid by You: $0.03 per word (fiction books) or $0.045 per word (nonfiction books) plus $3.00 per image.
